The CMRCA Life

22 February, 201o
In 2005 I came to Chaing Mai and I did not know what I was going to study or what I would do, but eventually I found it: journalism at Rajabhat Chiang Mai University.I love writing, and I wanted to make a career out of it. My hope, at that time, was to become a sports writer for a major newspaper or magazine, and to have my own column. That was a time in my life when I had to make many decisions, as if I was stopped at an intersection trying to decide which way to go. In the end, journalism was not for me, but nothing else seemed to fit either. I didn’t know which direction to choose.

In 2007 After three years of University and the college life, I was thinking about what my life was like and realized I wanted something more. I wanted to create something new in my life, something I had never done before. Around the same time my brother Add aka The Rabbit,, asked me to go climbing with him at the bouldering wall. The first time he asked me I said no, because honestly I didn’t know what he was talking about or what climbing was all about. But one day I decided to take him up on his offer and figure out what he was talking about. He invited me to go with him to theThe Crazy Horse Buttress.to climb on the beautiful limestone rock. When I got there I felt like a child. I looked at all the professional climbers on the rock, and they looked like monkeys, it was so cool to watch. But when I tried to climb it was so awful, I couldn’t even make it to the top of the easiest route. After I got back from the crag, I was so tired but I felt a connection with climbing and wanted to stick with it. I felt like this could be the new thing in my life, I felt like I found what I was looking for.
Soon after that day I got a part-time job at CMRCA and would work there after class. Going to work was not a problem and I was always excited to go. I was so happy being outside, learning so many new things about climbing, other cultures and languages and the environment. This was a huge change in my life. I was working to become and assistant instructor and was also able to travel south to Krabi for a climbing competition. It was an awesome experience to be able to go outside of Chiang Mai and getting to know the Thailand climbing world.

Nowit is 2010 and I am a full-time climbing instructor for CMRCA and every day I continue to learn new things. I am thankful for the way I came to be a climber because it allows me to understand my clients who are just beginning to climb as well. When someone struggles with an easy route it reminds me of my first time climbing and I get excited for them, I never run out of patience or encouragement for them. Each day when I wake up I, I think about what I want to create and look forward to the new things I will learn. Now I realize that my passion for writing has not gone away, climbing has given me something to write about and this blog is my way of staying connected to both of my passions.
Thank you CMRCA Family for giving me good opportunities and helping me meeting my goals, and I am excited about what we will to together in the future.
Cheers!

Working,Running,Climbing and Thailand Championship

17 February 2010
I've been climbing and also working atCMRCA for almost three years now. and I just signed my new contract for three more years. I have many goals set for myself, which I hope to accomplish during my time with CMRCA. I want to travel around the world. So, my first goal is to go to China for and take part in the exchange instructor program, with China climb. So that means I have to work harder and become the best instructor at the CMRCA and eventually the best in Thailand.
My twins brother Add Surachet Kongsingh, who is one of my best friends, just got back from serving in the Thai-military, and he also just signed his new contract with CMRCA for three years. Since coming home he has been training with the professional climber, Jonathan Siegrist or as we call him JStar. He came to Chiang Mai to train and was here for about two months. It was so good to see one the best climbers in the world training and to see what it takes to be a professional climber. After new year 2010, I've been thinking a lot about my own life. I want to drink less and quit smoking and I try to push myself harder, The reason why i want to stop smoking is because three weeks ago, I had a very bad cough, I felt so awful and I just wanted to get better. So as of three weeks ago I have not smoked a cigarette! Also, after talking with my best friend about the benefits of running and how it makes your heart strong and if your heart is strong it will bring you happiness in many ways. So, I decided to start running every other day, and it has been two weeks already! I hope to keep it up, strong heart, strong mind, strong life.

Next month, at the end of March is the Thailand Climbing Championship Competition in Bangkok. It is a big competition for Thai climbers, and I want to be there to compete. So that leads me to my second goal, competitions. This is an exciting time for me, when I go climbing, it is like a mind game and I always fight with myself. And my one and only reason for wanting to be there next month is: I Rock Climbing

ooan was send on his project

I will be there in Bangkok on next month

Inspiration

Saturday 17,Dec o9
On 11 April 1987 two tiny twins boys were born two months premature, they were so small and looked like little mice, their skin red and one of them was given the name Ooan or RoCkSt✬R. But time passes so quickly, 22 years later a lot has changed and so much is going on in my life. One of the best things is that I just finished my classes, 8 months ago but unfortunately some time ago my dad and my mom got divorced, a bit sad for me. But one thing in my life that is very incredible is job with CMRCA. I've been working with them for 2 years and it has been such a good thing for me. The other day I was thinking about CMRCA and all the opportunities they have given me to learn and allow myself to grow up and become the best person I can be, opening my mind to new things and the possibilities of the world around me.

Every day is a challenge for me. When I wake up my heart tells me what kind of day I want to create. I've been learning from my boss Josh Morris and has 3 principles for every one. The first one is the concept of a Prisoner; for him this means you're a person who can not control any thing in their life, very difficult to be around, they don't care about anything, totally selfish and never respect other people. The type of person is Vocationer; someone who wants everything around them, someone who wants everything to be comfortable at all times, nothing is out of reach and material things can be all they think about. And the last one is Leader; hat this kind of person thinks about what they want to create for their own life, today and in the future, they set goals and work towards them, following through with the simple things, looking around their world and making an impact, influencing those around them for the better.
Thanks to my dad for being my inspiration, he is like my best friend, he has very strong heart and is very kind. I hope everything is well with him. My mom, who is like an Angel in my heart. I can tell her anything but it is hard because I haven't seen her for long time because she lives in the south of Thailand but we still talk on phone as much as possible. And lastly my boss, the guy who has given me a amazing opportunities. What you create is up to you, your goals will not fulfill themselves, it is up to you, you do or do not do... what will it be?
Cheers!

Pacific Discovery 2010, Tyrolean traverse, Caving, Rock climbing

01-02 Febuary 2010
Pacific Discovery is a volunteer adventure group summer program. This travel-study abroad summer or gap year program is suitable for students, graduates and non-students, ideally 18-25 years.I was camping out side with a bunch of people from pacific discovery and CMRCA crew! at the beautiful local home stay near the crag and Sankampeang hot spring. It was so nice to be out side of the town and escape all the messy people and stuff for a while, just concentrating on working and having fun with The Pacific Discovery Crew!
First day we went rock climbing and Rappelling at Crazy Horse Buttress. we were split out in to two group and spent all day long at the crag, until four o'clock evening, than we went back to our nice home stay everyone felt very happy after full day.Although we were very tired it was a totally awesome day!
After everyone ate a very nice dinner, cooking by the owner of the home stay,we sat down to do the night activities. Josh Morris and P'Kat (his lovely wife) both of my bosses, came to the home stay in the evening to help lead the activities. P'Josh tried to teach Thai language and culture to the crew, he taught them basic Thai greeting and customs. We had a very good time together during this informal Thai class.

Then we all moved out side to the campfire to make sticky rice. The simple ingredient of coconut milk, butter, sugar and rice were added together for everyone to make grilled sticky rice or as we say in Thai Kao-niao ping. As the same time we were playing a game called birdie on a perch.Everyone was dancing around fire and when you heard the drummer say: "birdie on a perch!" you had to find the closest person to you,in front or behind you and then jump on their back.If you missed or couldn't find someone, you were out of the game. The time went by quickly late at night and we all went back to get some sleep for another day long tomorrow.

The second Day we woke up around 6 o'clock in the morning and the temperature was very cold, must colder than in town but it was nice to breath in the fresh air.We went down to shop at local market in the morning. At 8.45 a.m. we stared the activities and we split in to two group agian. My group went up to the anxieties state crisis cave exploring the natural cave down 40 Meters deep. We saw some animal living in side the cave, it was like a cricket with no eyes, a bat and also stalactite, stalagmite, it was so incredible to see what lives in the cave.We had lunch in the cave and after we went up to sailing Tyrolean traverse and to check out the tourism cave at the same mountain to see how different the same cave are.

Thank you Pacific Discovery for an incredible program! Have an outstanding tour of Southeast Asia and to make everyday "Suit Yod"

Cheers!
